We are pleased to host our first annual Innovation Convention on Friday, January 27, 2017. Students in grades kindergarten through eighth, will present their class or individual science and innovation projects at the convention.
We need qualified individuals to judge these exhibits. As a judge, you will be asked to evaluate several projects, spending about ten minutes interviewing each student whose project you are reviewing. You will be asked to judge various aspects of the exhibits including visuals appearance and creativity, the originality of the projects, and the students’ understanding of what they have researched and discovered or built. It would also be helpful to the students if you would provide suggestions and offer encouragement.
We ask that judges plan to be at our school on Friday, January 27 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. From 12:10 - 12:30, the faculty will give a brief presentation on judging criteria. Judging will begin promptly at 12:30 and should conclude by 2:00 p.m. You will be assigned student exhibits to judge during the specific time intervals. We will provide light refreshments for judges throughout the afternoon. The winners will be announced on Monday, January 30, 2017.
If you are interested in being a judge at the Innovation Convention, contact Ms. Evans at (773) 535 - 2690 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are not available to volunteer for this event, but would like to support the students, you can view their innovations on January 26, 2017 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. The students and faculty at Vanderpoel Magnet Academy would like to thank you in advance for your participation!
