Welcome VHA Tigers

Dear VHA Family and Friends, I am more than excited to begin another great school year with you all! As we are all finishing up another rejuvenating summer, I just wanted to take time to greet old friends and welcome new friends to our school community. We had an amazing 2018-2019 school year and we are eager to build upon our success. We finished last year with increased test scores, successfully implemented new social emotional initiatives, new community partnerships, and an AWESOME end-of-the-year fine and performing arts production - Lion King, Jr. As such, students will return to an environment where they can expect to achieve to their maximum potential. Our high standards for every student will be maintained this year, while also providing a safe and nurturing student-centered community that fosters respect for individual differences. At Vanderpoel, we make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience for all. We are also very excited about working with our active and involved parents who help to make VHA a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow. We look forward to furthering our collaboration and hope you will visit our website often to learn how we set and achieve the Standards of Excellence. Our affirmation this year is #WEARETHEMOVEMENT. We welcome you all to join us in our forward motion. Please know that we are always available to discuss any questions or concerns related to serving you. Sincerely, Kia Banks Principal
